With hefty $60 and even $70 price tags on games nowadays, more and more gamers are turning to free to play games on Xbox Series X. Fortunately, there are a ton of options that don't feel like egregious pay-to-win trojan horses- whether you're looking for thrilling multiplayer shooters that test your reflexes or teamwork to expansive RPGs where every decision shapes your journey, there is virtually something for every type of gamer out there on this list.

While Xbox Game Pass is probably the best bang for your buck when it comes to modern gaming, you still can't call those games free since you're paying for a subscription fee. Sure many of these titles will be trying to get you with microtransactions for skins and the like, but you don't have to spend anything to enjoy any of these free Series X games.
