Katniss And Peeta Watched Haymitch's Game

In Catching Fire, Katniss and Peeta watch a tape of Haymitch's game. His game was action-packed and revealed some interesting aspects of Haymitch's personality. Many fans would be excited to see this play out on screen, considering how cunning he is and the intelligence he displayed during the game.

Katniss Was Sent Bread From District 11 After Rue's Death

In the first book, District 11 sent Katniss a loaf of bread after Rue's death. Despite the kindness of the gift, she laments over the fact that it must have cost the District a lot. Anyone can send a gift of food, medicine, armor, or weaponry to any tribute. However, they're extremely expensive, so they typically only come from the Capitol or a wealthier district.

Madge's Character Was Left Out, As Well As The Story Behind The Mockingjay Pin

One of the biggest changes the movies made from the books was the decision to not include Madge and the story behind the Mockingjay pin. In the movies, Katniss and Primrose exchange the pin which helped strengthen their relationship, and it worked.
Madge started the rebellion by giving Katniss the Mockingjay pin. Considering how important the pin is to the story itself, many fans were upset to find this entire storyline was cut for time and money.

President Snow Despised Katniss

Because the movies made a conscious decision to leave out the character of Madge and the backstory of the Mockingjay pin, some audiences might not know how deep President Snow's hatred for Katniss runs.
The books explain a lot about President Snow. He has quite the tragic backstory, and it's revealed in The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes that Katniss reminds him of his lost love, Lucy. That was only the start of his descent into pure villainy. He holds a strong hatred for Katniss, and the rebellions like Madge before her.

Peeta Lost His Leg And Wore A Prosthetic

In order to preserve the film's PG-13 rating, one major detail about Peeta was left out. When Cato slashes Peeta's leg in the movie, Katniss is able to provide medic support and the wound ultimately heals.
When Cato slashes Peeta's leg in the book, nothing can be done. He loses his leg and receives a prosthetic from the Capitol.

Katniss And Peeta Both Scored 12s In Training For The Quarter Quell

Katniss and Peeta were the first and only tributes who received the highest training score, which was a 12. Fans theorize that Katniss's score was justified, considering her skillful instincts and long-distance battle ability, but unfortunately there's a reason they broke the scale.
It is heavily implied that the only reason Katniss and Peeta were given the highest score was to make them targets to the rest of the tributes.
