Regina George (Rachel McAdams) is all smiles - until, that is, you're on her bad side. She might still give you a smile, but inside, she's plotting how to utterly eliminate you. This is how Regina earned her spot as the Queen Bee of the Plastics in Mean Girls (2004), and she uses her powers of manipulation to command total loyalty from her subordinates. Sometimes, she takes things too far, however, pushing her closest friends to their breaking points.

She's also got a soft side, and is rife with personal insecurities, but you'd never know it by looking at her steely demeanor. 

The star of Clueless (1995), Cher (Alicia Silverstone), isn't like the typical Queen Bee portrayed in movies. Sure she's popular, beautiful, and highly social, but she doesn't use her status to pick on and demean people those on the lower rungs of the social ladder.

Cher uses her influence and insight to help people as best she can, although she can be misguided those attempts. She often thinks she knows best, despite all evidence to the contrary, which makes her a bit hard-headed. Still, her heart's usually in the right place.

In Cruel Intentions (1999), Kathryn Merteuil (Sarah Michelle Geller) is a complicated woman. From a family of wealthy and educated New York socialites, she excels at music, speaks three languages, and is an absolute monster. She is extremely vindictive and willing to manipulate people to attain her goals of revenge and humiliation.

In the film, adapted from the 18th-century French novel Les Liaisons Dangereuses, Kathryn makes an incredibly bizarre bet with her stepbrother, Sebastian (Ryan Philippe). If he can seduce a virgin from school, she will hook up with him. If not, she gets to keep his car. While this starts as a twisted game, Kathryn begins to develop genuine feelings of possession and affection toward her stepbrother. Her cruel ways and manipulation ultimately lead to Sebastian's untimely demise. Kathryn might not be the meanest Queen Bee, but she's probably the most twisted and the most deviously manipulative.

Torrance Shipman (Kirsten Dunst), the star of Bring It On (2000), is a high school senior, leader of the Toros cheerleading squad, and overall sweetheart. She is put in a tough situation when she realizes the former squad leader has been ripping off their routines from a rival school, and Torrance is forced to deal with this ugly fact. Every move she makes to help the team seems to end in failure, causing Torrance to suffer a crisis of confidence. She nearly quits the team after qualifying in the cheerleading regional finals, even being urged to give up by her long-distance boyfriend.

Eventually, Torrance regains her confidence and leads her team to second place. Unlike many a Queen Bee, Torrance demonstrates both pluck when the chips are down and a conscience.

There are few Queen Bees as cool as Rizzo (Stockard Channing) in Grease (1978). She's the undisputed leader of the Pink Ladies, dripping in sarcasm and not afraid of anyone. She drinks, smokes, and does whatever the hell she wants because she doesn't care what you think of her.

While you really don't want to get on her bad side, she has a softer side that she rarely shows. She becomes close friends with good girl Sandy Olsson, who helps her soften up a bit. 

Leader of the Flawless Four in Jawbreaker (1999), Courtney Shayne (Rose McGowan) is as ruthless as she is flawless. In an attempt to surprise her friend Liz for her birthday, Courtney sets up a mock kidnapping. She stuffs a jawbreaker in Liz's mouth to keep her from screaming, but this ultimately leads to her suffocating and perishing en route to the party.

Courtney, terrified of the repercussions of her actions, takes Liz's body home and stages an assault. However, a nerdy girl named Fern manages to discover everything. Courtney attempts to befriend and makeover Fern in an effort to keep her quiet, but Fern eventually becomes even more popular than Courtney. Courtney's misdeeds are eventually outed at prom when Fern plays a recording of her confession over the speaker system. When it comes to sheer evil, this Queen Bee is tough to beat. Others humiliate; she slays.
