18 Famous Actors You Totally Forgot Appeared On 'Grey’s Anatomy'

The Emmy Award-winning actress appeared as young Dr. Ellis Grey in 1982 during a flashback episode in Season 6. 

Paulson had already established herself as an actress in shows like Deadwood and Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip prior to her appearance on Grey's in 2010. She began her recurring stint on American Horror Story in 2011. 

The Mad Men and Handmaid's Tale actress played Nina Rogerson during a Season 3 episode of the hospital drama. Rogerson is very protective of her mother, who has a rare condition in which bone grows in areas where she gets injured. Rogerson's mother passes in surgery. 

Moss's breakout role as Peggy Olson in Mad Men came in 2007, the same year she made her guest appearance on Grey's. 

The Chinatown actress appeared as Dr. Margaret Campbell during a Season 5 episode. Campbell was the first female surgeon at Seattle Grace but decides to retire after making a mistake in the operating room.

Dunaway won an Academy Award for Best Actress in 1977 for her performance in Network. 

The Stranger Things actress appeared on a Season 11 episode of Grey's Anatomy when she was just 11 years old. Brown played a young girl named Ruby who calls Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital after her mother stops breathing. Brown's breakout role as Eleven on the Netflix hit series Stranger Things began in 2016, one year after her impressive performance on Grey's. 

The Friday Night Lights and Fargo star appeared as a patient named Jake Burton in Season 2. Burton suffers from a condition called craniodiaphyseal dysplasia, also known as lionitis. The teenager is diagnosed with a brain tumor and later perishes during surgery.
